William Cartlidge

William Tyler
D.O.B:
Nickname: Boyband or Tyz
Right Hand Bat/Right arm fast
Favourite Food: Subway – 6 inch chicken teriyaki
Favourite Artist: Busted and Oasis
Most amusing RCC moment:
Summary: Will is reaping the rewards of many hours spent refining his technique in the Tyler Cricket Academy (dining room) from the age of 2. He is at last emerging from his big brother’s shadow after forcing him to leave the country and is now beginning to convert both on and off the field. Manages to maintain a healthy “glow” all year round.

Nigel Hopkins
D.O.B:
Nickname: Hoppo
Right Hand Bat/Right arm slow
Favourite Food: Oldbury Tarts
Favourite Artist: The Wurzels
Most amusing RCC moment:
Summary: Hoppo is enjoying his time with the Rams after leaving his beloved home-town side Oldbury CC, although at times the local press have viewed the hefty transfer fee as a millstone around his neck. Be careful when walking through the car park if Nige is around, he takes no prisoners…… Punishing opening batsmen, enjoys his maturing partnership with Tyz

Jeremy White
D.O.B: approximately 1950’s
Nickname: Evergreen
Right Hand Bat/Right arm medium
Favourite Food: Indian cuisine or Kebab
Favourite Artist: Radiohead
Most amusing RCC moment:
Summary: “Jer” is revelling the autumn of his cricketing career, free from the shackles of first team captaincy, a position he held for some 25 years. A destructive batsman when he eventually gets his eye in and capable of holding a stunner or shelling a gift in the slip-cordon. Probably the clubs greatest exponent of the game of “Arse.”

Simon Hore
D.O.B:
Nickname: Keysey
Right Hand Bat/Right arm medium
Favourite Food: Anything
Favourite Artist: Counting Crows
Most amusing RCC moment: Any spell of bowling from Jon Wells (in the days when he used to play the game)
Summary: His likeness at the crease to Robert Key has led to comparisons being drawn with the recent England Batsman. Has only managed to bowl in the first team since his appointment as captain. Part of the public school clique at the club. Blue blooded.

Mark Beale
D.O.B:
Nickname: Cindy
Right Hand Bat/Right arm slow
Favourite Food: Magic Roll – Chicken with goats cheese.
Favourite Artist: Oasis
Most amusing RCC moment: Watching Richard Pickernill
Summary: A committed club-man, he is frequently known to be pacing around his bedroom playing shots in front the mirror at 5.30am on the day of a match. Developing a useful brand of off-breaks, operates in 1st or 5th gear when batting, he has yet to find the middle ground.

Jack Spence

D.O.B: 25.12.1991
Nickname: Inzy,
Left Hand Bat/Right arm medium
Favourite Food: Subway – Footlong – Chicken Teriyaki
Favourite Artist: Diana Ross and the Supremes
Most amusing RCC moment: Watching Richard Pickernill take one between his “upper thighs” whilst not wearing a box.
Summary: Questions were asked regarding his club loyalty as he left the field of play during a tightly poised league game to watch Germany 2006. He opens the bowling with passion; often incurring the wrath of the umpires, and his “one shot” is often effective when wielding the bat in the closing overs. Excellent fielder.

Rowan Cartlidge

D.O.B:
Nickname: Roland
Right Hand Bat/Right arm fast/wicketkeeper
Favourite Food:
Favourite Artist:
Most amusing RCC moment:
Summary: Looking more accomplished behind the stumps with every game, although the purists questioned his methods when he took to the field in shorts in one encounter at Redmarely. Promising top order batsmen with the ability to score big runs.

James Hancox
D.O.B:
Nickname: Cat
Left hand bat/slow left arm
Favourite Food: Cricket teas (always first in line)
Favourite Artist: Oasis and Mick Hucknell
Most amusing RCC moment:
Summary: The Cat is Rockhampton’s Mr Dependable with the ball in his hand, although he rarely manages a smile on the field. A reliable catcher despite his unorthodox “croc” technique. When batting he is a compulsive sweeper. Unfortunately his availability is limited in August as he still holidays with his parents.

Richard Jones
D.O.B:
Nickname: “Joner”
Right Hand Bat/Right arm medium
Favourite Food: Kellogs All Bran.
Favourite Artist: Pink Floyd
Most amusing RCC moment:
Summary: Joner is still going strong despite his ageing years and chain smoking, he puts this down to his meticulous training regime which involves jogging 20 miles each day, 3 baths a day and 2 litres of Malawian berry juice. He claims to have been a competent performer with the bat in his younger days although nobody at the club backs this up. He is rarely spotted wearing less than 6 cricket sweaters.

William Cartlidge
D.O.B: 6.6.1999
Nickname: “Google” or “treadmill”
Right Hand Bat/Right arm fast
Favourite Food: Rusks
Favourite Artist: Girls Aloud
Most amusing RCC moment:
Summary: One of the most talented youngsters at the club, he has the ability to bowl leg breaks or nippy medium pace. Question marks remain ovwer his athletic ability but this should change once he reaches his teens.
